How it works
- Timing partitions the case into brief / episodic / sustained.
- Trigger further narrows brief and episodic into triggered (BPPV, orthostatic) vs spontaneous (TIA, migraine).
- HINTS separates AVS into peripheral, central, or indeterminate.
- Hearing escalates AVS-peripheral with hearing loss into the AICA red flag.
- The verdict reports the working diagnosis, the reasoning, the next step, and a disposition with urgency colour.
The tool encodes the same evidence-based pathways as the chapter pages. It is an educational instrument, not a clinical decision aid for direct patient use. Always verify against local protocols and obtain expert consultation.
